This brings to mind an eccentric old lady, from back in my childhood, who didn’t approve of the new one-way system in our town, so drove around it the wrong way in drunken protest.
There’s a man across the road from us, who, my wife tells me, is in his 90’s. Somehow, he manages to wheel out his bicycle pretty much every day, and go for a ride. His movements are slow, deliberate and determined, as if frailty has become his inebriation…
